A Typological Research on OCS, Russian and Bulgarian

This paper aims to compare the typological characteristics of OCS(Old Church Slavic), Russian and Bulgarian. For this analysis, the author choose three criteria(belonged to OCS) to compare.

(1) *tj, *dj, (2) Ѣ, (3) postpositional use as a article of OCS demonstrative pronoun

The following tableau is the summary of typological research results. The remark "+" means positive value, "-" means negative value.

As shown in above, Typological sameness between OCS and Bulgarian is much bigger than that between OCS and Russian. But, in the process of diachronical changes of these language, Bulgarian goes to analytic language because of the Balkan language influences, not like OCS and Russian.
