The Language Structure of Vuk Popović’s Letters and the Complexity of their Lexical and Semantic Layers

The paper is dealing with the language structure of Vuk Popović’s letters, with the relation of his language and the Serbian standard language, as well as the relation of V. Popović’s language with the contemporary dialects of Boka Kotorska (Bocca di Cattaro). The particular attention is given to the lexical layers, to the role and importance of V. Popović’s language in the stabilization of Vuk’s model of literary language.
